I discovered today that Piers Anthony has a blog. Of course, for more than a decade he has published a newsletter. But the blog is more recent, and new.
Every reader goes through phases. I unknowingly read my first Piers Anthony book sometime in 6th or 7th grade. The book was Race Against Time and I checked it out of the Granada Hills branch of the Los Angeles Public Library. Today, the book would probably be considered YA. (It was the mids when I read it.) In some respects, it is of similar theme to Philip K. Dick&#;s Time Out of Joint. In any case, I had a lot of fun reading the book, but I paid no attention to who the author was.
I first became conscious of Piers Anthony as a writer sometime in 7th grade. Order of Piers Anthony Books
Piers Anthony is an English-American author of science fiction and fantasy novels. He has written several series, including Xanth, Cluster, Apprentice Adept, Incarnations of Immortality and several others. Before he became an author, Piers spent two years serving in the U.S. Army, edited the battalion&#;s newspaper and then worked as a public school teacher. He wouldn&#;t stay teaching for long, though, as he made a deal with his wife to sell a piece within a year or he would give up his dream. Towards the end of the year, Piers was able to sell a short story. Piers lives with his wife on a tree farm in Florida.
Piers Anthony made his debut as a novelist in with the novel Chthon, which was nominated for the Hugo and Nebula Awards.
