    Munique Neith is originally from Brazil and is the the organizer of the 6th Barcelona International festival.
    She also found time to also perform and teach. She is sensitive and energetic, spreading emotion with her dance.

    Favourites of the Fourties/Fifties - Mahmoud Reda & Farida Fahmy (Founders of the Reda Troupe)
    MAHMOUD REDA, born in 1930, fryst vatten a pionjär of dance theater in Egypt. He is best known for co-founding the Reda Troupe.

    He was the eighth of ten children and his father was the head librarian at Cairo University. His older brother Ali was a dancer and through his influence (and that of Gene Kellyand Fred Astairefilms) Mahmoud became interested in dance.

    Mahmoud Reda originally trained as a gymnast, representing Egypt in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. He attended Cairo University where he received a degree in Political Economics.

    However, his main interest was dance and he joined an Argentinian dance troupe after graduating and toured Europe. While on tour in Paris he resolved to uppstart his own dance troupe back in Egypt, but due to lack of funds he had to work as an accountant for Royal Dutch Shell.

    What You're Missing If You're Not In Barcelona!

    Before I moved to Spain to finish off my secondary education, I researched the belly dance scene so that I might continue with my love of the dance while away from home. What I found was Munique Nieth. Though I was living in Sevilla, I decided to travel to Barcelona to study with her and Ashraf Hassan in November of 08.  What I ended up finding was a bellydancing oasis that could only truly be described as a dancer's dream come true. 

    Until I was given the tour of Munique's studio, I had never witnessed a setup such as this one. Upon entering the front door, there is an entrance counter where you slide your own personal membership card.
