    This was a delightful read. Ernst von Glasersfeld () is a big name in the field of cybernetics and a proponent of a radical constructivist epistemology and pedagogy. This theory of knowledge denies that we can get in touch with an external reality. We can only work from constructs that reflect our typically human erfarenhetsbaserad world. There is no absolute knowledge, not even in science where theories and models of reality constantly change. Working from that assumption pulls the activity of learning, i.e. of examining our own mental models in the light of our experiences in the world around us, center stage. In his ‘Partial Memories’ EvG refers to Piaget’s statement that “the mind organizes the world by organizing itself” and this can be considered to be the leading principle of a constructivist worldview.

    Ernst von Glasersfeld (March 8, , Munich &#; November 12, , Leverett, Franklin County, Massachusetts) was a philosopher, and emeritus professor of psychology at the University of Georgia, research associate at the Scientific Reasoning Research Institute, and adjunct professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He was a member of the board of trustees of the American Society for Cybernetics, from which he received the McCulloch Memorial Award in He was a member of the scientific board of the Instituto Piaget, Lisbon. Glasersfeld is known for the development of radical constructivism.
