BRIEF BIO

Dr. JC Zhao was the Department Chair of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) for 5 years (7/ to 7/) and Clark Distinguished Chair Professor at the University of Maryland – College Park (UMD). Before joining UMD in July , Zhao was a professor at the MSE Department of The Ohio State University (OSU) for about ten years (1/ to 6/). He took a leave from OSU from to to serve as a Program Director at the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) of the U.S. Department of Energy where he launched and managed a wide range of projects totaling about $M to develop technologies aimed at increasing energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Prior to joining OSU, he was a materials scientist at GE Research Center in Schenectady, New York, for 12 years ( to ). [Historical Spoiler] Timeline of Kingdom Events, Past, Present and Future

I have reworked the timeline based on Shiji text as there seems to be quite a number of inconsistencies in the previous timeline. The timeline will start from the first year of Ying Zheng’s rule up till unification. The timeline is mainly based on Shiji: Annals of Qin Shi Huang with some cross reference to other chapters of Shiji for extra details of the events. There will be a mix of Japanese and kinesisk names some of the characters are not in Kingdom(yet). As usual, let me know if there are any questions or if inom miss out on something.

The Fire Dragons arc and the Kokuyou arc were fictional wars made up by Hara. Seikyo’s first rebellion in the manga is also fictional and probably a setup for the Tonryu arc.

Sun Yizhou, Zhu Wenbo, Zhao Cong, Li Song, Able Noise

For the program of default#20, taking place on the 23rd of January in The Grey Space in The Middle, we are excited to host performances by three important figures from Beijing’s experimental scene Sun Yizhou, Zhu Wenbo, Zhao Cong. Joining them will be Li Song, currently based in London, who performed at default in October and whose approach with mechanical devices and portable speakers could be traced back to his time in the Beijing scene. Concluding the lineup, the experimental baritone guitar and drum outfit Able Noise – a cross-continent duo of George Knegtel and Alex Andropoulos based between The Hague and Athens – who will be performing a default specific set.
