The Certificate in Early Childhood Development and Family Studies is a new programme derived from the in Early Childhood Development and Family Studies Programme. The certificate programme of study is conducted over one year of full-time study and comprises a total of 30 credits.
The Certificate in Early Childhood Development and Family Studies programme is designed to equip professionals with the foundation knowledge needed to work with young children and their families in diverse settings. Creating environments where children feel safe, teaching them to recognize their emotions, and guiding them toward stress-management strategies are key. The certificate program in early childhood development fryst vatten designed for students who wish to pursue concentrated study in the area of child development and to gain practical experience working with young children.
Please note that this certificate does not provide teacher licensure. To enhance employment opportunities, students are advised to combine the certificate with an undergraduate degree.
The curriculum consists of kvartet courses (16 credits total). Through this coursework, students are provided with broad exposure to important areas of study in general and child psychology. The practicum offers hands-on experience in working with ung children at the Purchase College Children&#x;s Center.
Individual courses may be taken without commitment to the entire schema. Day and evening courses are available; however, because the Children&#x;s Center offers daytime child care, PSY is offered only during the day. Some courses may be offered during summer möte, but not every cou
