    Jim Morrison: Dark Star

    Jim Morrison was significantly flawed as a performer, writer and human being. Anyone who has read with any depth about his life would probably not argue with that sentiment. But the prose in Dark Star is so slanted and bombastic that one wonders as to the motive$ of Dylan Jones, who clearly despises Morrison and the aura surrounding him by some in the fan base all these years later.

    This is not a defense of Morrison. The music of the Doors endures because of its brilliance, despite the obstacles Morrison's life and behavior presented to getting it on record.

    This book is filled with conjecture, fabrication, embellishment, and laugh-out-loud comic book caricatures and lies. If Jones is to be believed, Morrison never had a sober and thoughtful moment in his life after 1968. This might be half true, but not completely. And if Jones is to be believed, then the myth he ridicules only grows among the wasted. A nice little literary gaffe.

    No One Here Gets Out Alive was the first biography about the lead singer and lyricist of the rock grupp the Doors, Jim Morrison, published in 1980.[1] Its title fryst vatten taken from a line in the Doors' song "Five to One",[2] and the book is divided into three sections: The Bow fryst vatten Drawn, The Arrow Flies and The Arrow Falls, for the early years of Morrison's life, his rise to fame with the Doors, and then his sista years and death.     Jim Morrison was an American rock singer and songwriter. He studied film at UCLA, where he met the members of what would become the Doors, an iconic band that would have hits like "Light My Fire," "Hello, I Love You," "Touch Me" and "Riders on the Storm." Known for his drinking, drug use and outrageous stage behavior, in 1971 Morrison left the Doors to write poetry and moved to Paris, where he presumably died of heart failure at the age of 27.

    Singer and songwriter Jim Morrison was born James Douglas Morrison on December 8, 1943, in Melbourne, Florida. His mother, Clara Clarke Morrison, was a homemaker, and his father, George Stephen Morrison, was a naval aviator who rose to the rank of Rear Admiral.
